RELEASE NOTES FOR PROMOTION(tm) BIOS Update for ProMotion(r) 6410
(c) COPYRIGHT 1997 ALLIANCE SEMICONDUCTOR ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
OVERVIEW:
---------
This will upgrade the 6410 BIOS via a TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident)
program.
The following files are included in this release:
BIOSTSR.COM - The BIOS upgrade file.
UPDATE.BAT - The batch file which installs the TSR.
ADDFILE - Text file required to update system files.
README.TXT - This file.
The upgrade is accomplished by coping the BIOSTSR.COM file to the root
directory of your system (C:\) and adding this line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
BIOSTSR
If (C:\) is not your system root directory edit the UPDATE.BAT file and
replace the (C:\) with the appropriate letter.
Notes:
- If you replace the 6410 in your system you must delete the added
lines to your AUTOEXEC files. Failure to do so will cause your
system to hang on boot up.
- This file should only be run once. Running this update more than one time
will create multiple installs in your AUTOEXEC files. You must edit the
files and remove any duplicate installations
