Drivers

Drivers for the Y-E Data External PCMCIA Floppy Disk Adapter N50
that was shipped with Sony Camcorder(s). Per Peter Rejto, the
PCMCIA card was without drivers or adaquate documentation.
For general reference, I have included our EMail correspondances.

Hey Jim,

Thought I'd share the good news! I wrote an e-mail message to
Y-E Data in Japan and they actually sent me the drivers for another
product that they make called "FlashBuster" that looks identical to
the adapter that I have. The drivers work fine in my laptop!
Again, thanks for your help!

Peter

Jim,

I really appreciate your efforts, and I do agree that it is really
quite pathetic of Sony to supply such a potentially useful item and
then refuse to let the owner of an extremely expensive camera get
the fullest potential from the device!

It occurs to me that the driver for the Accurite product (which is
essentially the same as the Sony product - at least in function)
might work. Unfortunately Accurite does not provide a driver on their
web site. The product does ship with a floppy containing the drivers.
I wonder how I might get them to experiment? Anyway, it is a real shame
because the Sony unit would be far easier to travel with than the bulky
parallel non-hot swapable floppy adapter that came with the Chembook!
Thanks again for your efforts!

Happy holidays!

Peter
