The AL-6X00 Installation Guide details the installation and
configuration of the AL-6X00 series high performance 32 bit
EISA SCSI adapter. The basic steps are:

1. Install SIMMs (1 OR 4 MByte, 70 ns or faster) in the SIMM
sockets of the AL-6200, starting with bank 1. SIMMs
must be all of the same capacity and installed in groups
of 4. No SIMMs (i.e. 0 MByte) is okay.

2. Install AL-6X00, with ribbon cables attached, in an EISA
slot as close to the motherboard microprocessor as possible.

3. Run the ALUTIL program on this diskette if you wish to low
-level format your hard drive(s) or check that SCSI ID's
are correctly set. Run the ALUTIL by changing to the ALUTIL
subdirectory and entering "ALUTIL" at the DOS prompt.

4. Run "EISA Configuration" following the procedure supplied
by the manufacturer of your EISA computer or motherboard.
The EISA configuration procedure will ask for the file
!ALW3330.CFG contained on this diskette. Refer to the
EISA Configuration section of the AL-6X00 Installation
Guide for information on configuration options.

5. Once the system and adapter(s) are configured perform a DOS
"FORMAT" if necessary.
