Scan results
When I do the free scans and get the results, it has a red X to the right of things. Does this mean the driver needs updated?

The Red X next to a device indicates that either no driver is installed or that a newer driver is available. So yes, it means that the driver needs to be updated.

The red 'x' means that we have a newer driver. Whether the update is required is up to you:

* Graphics card drivers should be updated

* Other drivers should only be updated if the current driver is missing, or you have a problem with it.

* You will not notice any increase in performance updating other drivers

* You may notice improved stability installing the updates - Less Blue Screens of Death.

RE: Scan results
most of these driver scans will show your chipset is out of date as long as you have the lastest intel , Nvidia , AMD chipsets installed its safe to ignore them.

as driver guru said if your video card is showing it needs updating or indeed its driver is missing then you can load the driver it shows or pop over to nvidia or ATI and get the very lastest drivers for free

http://www.nvidia.com

http://www.ati.com

before loading the newest drivers from any GFX card make sure your direct x is fully updated or you will not get the best from the new driver.
