While ago, my friend crash his computer. We reinstalled everything we could did all that blah blah blah. But it's been like 9 months and we never got his speakers to work. He can use the little ports for head phones and so on but i think i need to update the sound driver for his speakers and sub-woofer. Sadly i don't know what MB he has, the website where he bought his computer is Tigerdirect and it's no longer listed so i can't find it. So i need a way to check which kind of sound drivers i need to down load, anyone know how to help?

if you can hear the sound coming from the pc by headphones the sound card driver is installed.

you do not need a driver for the speakers only the soundcard as the speakers amp up the pre out of the sound card.

the fault must lay in your speaker wires or where you have plugged the speakers in to on the pc.
