i have a sony dvd rw dw-d22a in my pc but it will not let me burn dvd's??? cd's are no problem and can be burnt through power to go and nero 8 but no joy with dvd's. I have scanned my pc and according to it there is no driver. Can anyone help me please as i haven't got a clue.
if you can burn , read normal cd's its not a driver problem its a software problem.
make sure that your burning software can do what your asking it to do.
also make sure you are using the correct format of disk for your drive.
not all drives will burn to dvd+ or dvd-r
they will do one format or the other.

Thanks hun....friend has brought me a disk round and it appears to have done the job. Just won't play on my dvd player now but will play through wm. Thanks again for the help.

ok i see the problem the file you burnt is a wmp file and most home dvd players will not play that file format.
you can use nero and convert the file to play on any standard dvd player.
when you session has finsihed make sure when you close the disk that its set to play on any dvd player or you will run head long in to the same problem.
the only other thing is some downloaded films have right protect built in them, if that is the case it will not convert over to a standard format for a dvd player.
as far as i can tell your computer is working just fine and your dvdrw drive is working just the way it should do.
