Hi. I have an mx400 card(video card bios v. 4.11.44.80) on a mercury board with a via pvm4 chipset.I use xp sp2 with directx 9c.
I downloaded driver 29.42 from the nvidia site. I don't have the cards original drivers.
Whenever I install/update the cards driver, it installs ok but there are no changes windows still doesn't recognise any display adapter. I have done this on a fresh install of xp.
windows or dxdiag dosnt detect card at all but a windows utility I use at least tells me that I have an mx400 card onboard.

Please help, is the 29.42 the right driver for my video card bios v. 4.11.44.80?
Or what procedure should I use?

Heeeeeeelppppppp!!!??"@*#
the video card bios is not important when looking for a driver.
the driver you have loaded is way out of date.
the newest one to support the " 4 " series card is 93.71

the version you have loaded is for the old tnt2 cards and does not support your model gpu.

this is the correct driver.
please remove all drivers you have loaded for that card before you load this one or you will get big problems.

Thanks davey6 for ur prompt response. I will definately try that, my concern however is that the 29.42 driver on the nvidia site says it supports the mx400 yet when I try to update the driver using the nv4-disp.inf the response is "specified location does not contain information about your hardware"
I wanted to first avoid downloading a large file and get dissapointed but I will do as u say.
Is my concern legitimate though?
