There are two ways to install a driver. One is with the manufacturerer's exe or setup file, the other is to unpack the driver files to a folder and point to that folder for the drivers while you update from device manager. If it fails to install, you may not have the correct driver.

vga compadible is not a real driver. thats the default driver that does nothing. you need to determine which is your actual hardware.
is it a card or is it built onto the motherboard.
if card: what is printed on the card
if built in what is the model of the motherboard?
