I have a Gateway 3550gz notebook

K Last night I was just surfing the web and all of a sudden my ethernet controller complelty disappeared like its not even in the device manager at all not under other devices or network adapaters. like not even listed with a yellow question mark; although my mass storage controlelr and PCI modem have the yellow question marks

I did a complete system restore still nothing i have gone thru dling ever driver compatible from gateway.com and nothing is being reconized and put into the device manager.

I am complelty lost on how I can get my ethernet controller back into my device manager so I can update it and get my wireless internet working again.

Any help will be much aprreaciated

check in the bios of the laptop and make sure the network card / ethernet is switched on.

if its been disabled in the bios windows can not see it or use it.

if its enbaled in the bios you may have a bad network card.
