Full Version: Driver For HP??

Hi. I have an HP Pavilion tx 1000 and I just bought a Logitech wireless optical mouse for notebooks today.  I have called Logitech and they were the ones that told me that HP would have to have a driver for the mouse to work.  I run Windows Vista and I know this mouse (v220) works with it.  After chatting with somone from HP for an hour (after they finally realized that I am, indeed, NOT an idiot and did put the batteries in and turned ON the moues), told me that there was no driver.  I don't believe this, mainly because of the links she gave me to microsoft and ehow on how to install a mouse (wtf? Rolleyes ).  So any REAL help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried many things with Logitech.  We tried different things on the computer and also a neat trick where you click left, then right five times (if anyone knows what I'm even talking about).  Anyway, none of these have worked.  Anyone know of a driver??? Sad

Thanks for all help.

Well, I found a solution... but I'm not sure if I trust it.  I've been told I need to delete the USB controller.  Any ideas on this as well? Sorry if it's off topic...
Oh... and just HOW do you delete it too? It's not under add/remove programs and I can't right click or you know... move it to the recycle bin.

Please please help... this is such a headache.
no don't delete the controller what you should do is reload your main chipset driver and then use windows update to gain access to the most up to date usb drivers.

now you say tx1000 but i have had these on my own site.
please turn that laptop upside down and look on its sticker you will see tx1000 which is the series and then you should see another model number.
that would be the correct one to input here at hp to find your main chipset drivers.

hp are correct in a way i have never needed to load a driver for a mouse it should be built in vista.
with a wifi one you have to train the mouse to its base unit i trust hp did tell you that part ?
if you can't find the motherboard drivers listed for your model please let me know its full model number and i will find you the correct vista drivers.
