Hey guys and gals, I got a problem I have never encountered before,I have just loaded xp pro onto my comp and the mouse is missing,the curser is in the middle of the screen but not doing much cursering, looking in the device manager it is not listed (usually shows in the list under the keyboard) going to the mouse properties the driver page is blank, no driver.. normally the driver is loaded from the disc..not this time,,,have tried several mice, even put a bit of cheese in there to entice it out, tried several different mice, I could use any mouse before this reinstall..have tried several different drivers from the manufacturers (logitech wired mouse) now at an impasse. is my motherboard fed up of mothering this little critter? any ideas people?

have you got a usb mouse ?

if so plug that in to test the built in drivers in windows.
most motherboards have a fuse on the ps2 ports if they overload they blow the fuse to stop damage to the board, this is not very common but i have seen it happen.
