I recently built a computer using the Asus P5B Deluxe WiFi motherboard, nVidia Quadro 560 Video card, and Creative Audigy 2ZS Platinum sound card, 4 Maxtor 300GB hard drives in a RAID 5 array and 2GB Corsair XMS2 PC6400 RAM. I'm running Windows XP Pro.
When I first got it running I had a PCI Device that was showing no driver installed. Windows Update could find nothing to install. I tried every installation disk for the hardware in both the automatic mode (let the software find it) and manual mode (go through every file on the disk and if it had a file that allowed, let the computer search that file). I even tried a few Driver Disks (CDs with nothing but drivers). Nothing worked. I tried installing the new Asus Bios driver for the board and performance sunk into quicksand and solved nothing, still no driver recognized or found. To solve the quicksand problem I went back, wiped the hard drives, reinstalled the original Bios drivers and reinstalled the operating system and software. The problem persisted.
I've gone to various driver sites, run their scanning software and although they recognize the device, it is only as "PCI Device" with no identification or known driver, even thogh every other piece of hardware is identified and drivers either shown OK or a new one available.
I've run "winmsd" from the Run command window and got the following results under System Summary>Components>Problem Devices:
Device=PCI Device
PNP Device ID=PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&SUBSYS_81EC1043&REV_02\3&11583659&0&D8
Error Code=The drivers for this device are not installed.
It is showing a Resource= 0xFEBF8000-0xFEBFBFFF
The short and narrow of it is there is a device at PCI 3 that is unknown and without a driver. Can anyone help me figure out
what this device is and where and/or how to get a driver for it?
Thanks.
