I have HP pavillion tx 1000 with vista premium home.
I have an y-252u  usb hardisk.
It has worked in both vista and win 98.
Now it wont work in vista but still works in 98.

I lave installed the 95/98 y-252u driver in vista, maybe stupid, but as  I remember it didnt show up before I di that. I have also reinstalled said driver, didnt help);.

Now what to do?

Problem solved, somehow.

I plugged it in in a different usb port, it worked.
When I havent touched puter for 20 min it goes into a save mood something. Usbdrive is thereafter not recognized, and I cant shut down either with usbdisk plugged. Have to remove it while spinning.
Then I have to reeboot. And i have to reboot without the usbdisk connected, or else it puter wont booth.
Didnt have those trouble in 98, 2000 or xp, maybe its not only vista tough, this is my first laptop and I think I also turned of all energi saving settings on the nonlaptop puters
