My kids have a compter and i have been trying to find out what is wrong with it.My husband is in Iraq and funds are limited so i can't really get it to someone to fix so i thought i would try but, i have no clue in what is wrong.
When it is turned on, the screen goes black and the cursor blinks at the top.
I have tried starting it with the retore disk but that doesn't work either,
Any help would be greatly apperciated.

oh windows more errors.
ok see if you can start the pc in safe mode then use the built in system restore to do that please follow this.
start the pc up, push and keep pushing the F8 key up and down while the pc is trying to boot.
you should get a submenu
select start pc in safe mode.
then see if the pc will start up.
the screen res will be terrible and you will have no sound but don't worry about that as windows is running in very basic mode.
now click start, programs , accessiories , system tools , system restore.
see if you can restore the pc back a few days to when it was working.

Getting into safe mode doesn't work, I also tried starting it up from the recorvery dissc and that doesn't work either.
it will work keep trying.
thats the standard way to get in to safe mode in all windows versions.
