hi ive got this card reader but its not working after i took my pc apart and put it back together i had a cpl of problems with other things so took it apart but anyway its not finding the drivers ive done a format and hoped windows would find it like it normally does but no luck ive searched every site i can and i even tried all my motherboard discs and nothing will work please can any1 help its an internal card reader
couldnt find it on there ive looked and the drivers arent there and yes its a media card reader that windows has always found the drivers for but this time it aint
if that is a plug and play card reader which i think it is please check the following.
make sure your windows is fully up to date with all service packs installed.
in the case of xp that is service pack 2 as that updates all the plug and play hardware and the mass storage device drivers.
make sure your motherboard drivers have been installed.
windows can not load a driver up for a usb device if it don't understand your usb ports.
hi ive tried all that all the motherboard drivers are installed properly and it plugs into the mother board so i dont know if its plug and play
ok i don't think enlight is going to be of much help here.
one other way to see if you i can find the drivers for you but it means you taking the screws out the usb reader and noting down all the chips you see listed inside it.
only remove the cover and note down what you see, don't pull the whole thing apart as the main control chips should be surface mounted.
hi just opened it and something has blown inside so im guessing thats the problem thanks for all your help looks like im going out to buy another...lol
funny thing is thats common on these usb readers.
the parts are so small that they can't handle any sort of heat and just pop.
oh well you found the fault , good job really i got you to take the case off and not try endless drivers
