I found this site by searching for something to solve my problem. I have a HP presario 906US laptop (470047-897). I am/was running WinXP. I was working on a research paper (20pgs) and left my laptop after logging out. A few days later my wife unplugs it and brings it to me complaining it's making a weird noise. I opened it up and found subject error message. I replugged it in and loaded the recovery CD. It started loading and returned with an error of Hard Disc Driver Not Found.
:(
Is my hard Drive recoverable, or should I just get a new one. The information on it was very important (documents and pictures), is there any way of salvaging it. Mr. Davey6, I've read your comments on other people with problems the same as mine, but different laptops. Does the same procedure apply to all laptops? (Use Win 98SE disc, etc) Thanks for any and all help up front.
