Hi Dave
Thanx for getting back to me I did what you suggested but It still didn't work It's saying It can't find the files?.So To be honest I'm not sure where I go from here.Adela.

ok i am looking at vista now so try doing it this way.
click start , control panel.
under hardware and sound click printer.
in the top menu click add a printer.
then click add local printer.
next screen choose the port where you connect the printer, then click next.
in the small box click show all devices.
now under manufacture select hp.
in the next list select your printer.

it is listed as i can see it on my vista.
click next to finish the wizard.

now if your connecting by usb make sure that vista does not have a problem with its usb drivers as that will cause the self install to work.

if the above don't work you will have to contact hp for more advise on your problem.

Hi Dave
Thanx for getting back to me there isnt a Hardware and sound Icon In the control panel I have add Hardware or I have sound but not both together. I did try the above but that didn't work either. Hp are sendind out a CD so hopefully that will work. Thanx for all your help and time.Adela.

have you switched vista over to classic view ?
if so the hardware and sound will not show together.

if you have switched over to classic view look on control panel for printers.
click that then follow the above from add a new printer.

if you get that cd from hp can you let me know please as i would like to know what is on it if the site states that new driver is needed.
