can you post back with what windows you are running.

you are installing the drivers for your printer/ cam ?
you will get a usb error if you just plug something in without the driver.
i'm running xp pro
yes i am installing the drivers for the printer/cam
i don't get any errors the sortware for my printer says it can't locate the printer and when i plug in the cam the pc won't pick it up
go in to your bios and make sure usb support is set to enabled.

download and install the via mainboard chipset drivers from this link.
http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?Pag...CatID=1070
it will inform xp about the correct way to use your usb ports.

and one last thing if your running a firewall or anti virus software switch it off while you try to install the device as it can block the port access.
tryed them its either i installed them wrong or they don't work
did you check your bios ?

go into device manager, with no device plugged in see if windows list any of your usb ports as a problem.

now when windows xp first came out it had problems with usb you should really be running service pack 1 or 2 as that sorted all those problems out.
