you should be able to connect to that router by lan you only need the drivers if your using usb.

i would connect by lan if you can and ditch the usb as lan is faster.
vista may take time to find new network its a bit slow on doing that.
if it still don't find it by lan shut down the vista firewall which is a real pain at the best of times.
