Im having trouble capturing a video i took onto Windows Movie Maker. The camera is not mine and its owners are currently out of town. The camera is a sharp VL-NZ100 digital viewcam. The owners of the camera did not have a USB cable with the camera so i bought a digital camera replacement cable from radioshack to hook up to the computer. Whenever i attempt to click on the capture video button in Windows Movie Maker it says that a capture video device was not detected. I put in the USB driver software cd that came with the camera and im not quite sure if it worked. My computer has Windows XP so i thought maybe that the software wasnt for XP. I downloaded the USB driver software from Sharp.com for Windows XP, and there is still no change. I am now thinking that maybe the USB cable i bought is not compatible with the Sharp viewcam since it is not one the of models listed for compatiblity on in the box. If anyone can help me understand why it is not capturing it would much appreciated. Thanks
i need to read the manual on this cam it may work in a different way to my jvc
if that a mini usb cable to full usb they are all standard so it should be the correct cable.

if you have the manual just have a quick read on how to set the cam up for video capture , on some you just power them on with the main view finder open, some you have to push play on the cam then capture in movie maker, some others you need to go into the cam menu and tell them what output to use

i will when i get five mins i will download the manual and have a read myself.
