Hi buddies.

I bought a new harddisk, well sealed and lebeled with 82GB, infact this is what I expected. During first installation of window XP service pack 2 I was supprised to read that the harddisk ability was only 33GB and I could only see one unpartitioned space which is the one holding that much of capacity.

Should ther be any technical procedures to go through to recover the remaining copacity which seem to slip out of my ownership?

Thanx buddies
two reason why this can happen with a hard drive.

1 your bios is out of date and needs to be updated to the lastest version

2 the jumper settings on the back of the drive have been set to limit its size

please post back with the make and model number of the hard drive.
and the make and model number of your motherboard.
Thanks for assistance.

Here are the information you needed:

Device instance ID IDE\DISKHDS728080PLAT20

When I try to check the volume through Disk management below is what is displayed:
Volume serial number is 70DC-663F
vOLUME IN DRIVE c HAS NO LEBLE

If the problem is the jumper setting please direct me how to reset them, If is the issue of BIOS updation please likewise. For now the jumpers are in CS model.

I keep longing for your help.

Thanks buddies.
