I am trying to locate an Atheros DLL, athcfg11.dll. Does anyone where I can find a copy of the file? I have Atheros Client Utility on my laptop and it won't run without athdfg11.dll. I tried the Atheros web site with no luck.
that file is part of your wifi card driver/software.
download the newest driver/Utility for your card and install it,
that should replace any missing files

I have a Toshiba laptop that came with a recovery cd (which includes software I assume for the wifi card). That was the first thing I thought of but when I contacted Toshiba tech support he said that if I tried to use the disc it would overwrite everything currently on my hard drive. He said that you can't pick and choose what programs to reinstall. Not wanting to lose everything I choose not to go that route. That is the reason why I am looking for a copy of the missing file. Thanks for replying to my post.
toshiba support sometimes i wonder why they are there.
go to toshiba website enter your full model number from the bottom of your machine into the site.
then look for the driver updates for your wifi card.

I went to the Toshiba site but couldn't find my model. It turns out that my model was made for the Canadian market, but it got me thinking. I went back to Toshiba Canada and downloaded an older version of the program that was missing the dll file. I created a new directory as the downloaded file was an exe file, and had it install the files there. I assumed that the missing dll file would be installed in the proper place and I didn't want to overwrite the newer version of the program. Well, that's exactly what happened and I was able to run the program. I deleted the older version and now all is well.
If it hadn't been for your assistance I would still be trying to figure out what to do next.
Incidentally, I found some other drivers for my machine on a German web site. Apparently my model is or was also sold in Europe.
Once again thanks for your timely assistance.
your machine i would like to bet was for sale all over the world its just the product number that differs .
its way to redirect a machine to correct support lines as you just found out.
well done on getting that working.
