Sir I am looking for drivers for my scanner "CANON" model canoscan N240U for windows Vista.

i have done some searching and i have found some drivers for
canoscan model N1240U
are you sure the model is N240U?

I have not come across a scanner thats vista ready yet not even my own.

if you have the xp driver try that in the way i have listed here.

Did a bit more googling and came up with this. I haven't tried it out yet but thought I'd post it anyway.

I recently came to this thread to figure out how to install my canoscan N650U (old, I know) on Win Vista. Canoscan doesn't provide drivers as of yet. What I did next worked. I restarted and after the BIOS I tapped F8 until the safe mode screen popped up. I noticed at the bottom that there is an option to force driver installation even if unsigned. I used the XP drivers and it works now.

Could you please explain in more detail your solution via Safe Mode, etc!

I came accross this site which doesn't have a Vista Driver as such for my ageing Canon N650U Scanner, but the App uses a generic driver which seems to work with vista *and* XP Pro x64 as well...
