I recently installed windowsXP on my IBM computer, replacing the ME that came with it. I want the ME back but I cant find the software that came with my computer. I dont care for the XP as well as just finding out from Microsoft that I purchased a pirated copy of XP. How do I get the old ME back without the original software? Can it be downloaded somewhere? Please help me. Thank you. I also purchased the XP on a recent trip and its not worth my getting on a plane to revisit the store.lol.

In the early days you were supplied with a Recovery CD that woul allow you to retore your system to Factory condition. Later (to save money I suppose) they put the recovery files onto a hidden partition on the hard drive. My guess is that when you installed XP you wiped that hidden partition. You could contact IBM and see if they have a Recovery CD that you could purchase for a nominal price. Microsoft had a program in some countries where they would replace your pirate copy of XP for a legal copy if you told them where you purchased the pirate copy from.

Other tham that I think IBM is your best bet.
