Hi I know you guys have already posted a lot of stuff about this but I have tried everything. I recently re-installed windows 98se. everything was fine no errors. but it wont let me change my screen resolution. I have done 7 or 8 clean install jobs on this comp in the last 6 months and never had a problem with my moniter (which is gateway ev500) I have tried downloading NUMEROUS drivers from all over the internet and changing it. but no matter what driver I use it doesnt help. When I looked to the video card I found out it is an onboard videocard and is a standard PCI graphics adapter (VGA) driver. I then went to the gateway website entered my serial number and got new set of drivers for the motherboard, installed them tried updating them. this did not work either. I need help! I go to school for Information Systems so I have some comp knowledge but apparantly not enough. my comp is a gateway essential 500c (i believe) if you need to know anything else I will be checking back often:( :_|

You have to select your product type, but 500c is not listed. CHeck to see if you gave us the correct model number. If you still can't find the driver, post back with the Serial Number of your PC and we will search again.

the model number is mostly rubbed off so i cant tell by looking at it, i did however go to the gateway website previously and entered my serial number ( 0019093607 ) in there and it told me that my comp was a essential 500c ( it says essential on the front, but thats all):?

oh yeah and i had already downloaded all the drivers i could find for monitor and motherboard and neither allows me to change my screen settings. I opened my machine and i am pretty sure that the chipset is intel 810 and i found some other numbers on some stickers on the mother board.

Your serial number supplied the above info for the link I provided. Video is down the bottom of the supplied drivers. See if they work.
