I am working with a compaq 5300 lte laptop with win 98 se installed in it and i need to find where I can download the card wizard utility files that normally came with the laptop when it was first bought. some one gave it to me and can not find the cd with the program on it and compaq (h.p.) won't supply me with one because i am not the one who bought and i don't have the huge amount of money they want for it . could any one help me!! please!!!
I am trying to get my belkin wireless adapter card to work in the pc slot on the laptop. the card wizard enables all the card services to work on the pc slot to be able reconize the card . well that's what i have gotten out of all the info i have read on the hp web site and elsewhere. hp says laptop is to old for them to offer support on line without charging me and arm and leg. what a dilemia thanks for your help
oh i see i think. i take it this belkin card plugs in to the pcmcia slot on the laptop.
what happens when you plug the card in ?
have you loaded the drivers for the wifi card ?
hp do not list what spec the motherboard is or what chipset it has if you know please post back i am sure i can find the chipset drivers for you away from hp.
windows can not load drivers for a slot it don't know about so loading your motherboard drivers up will help with your problem with the card.
could you please post back with the make and model of the wifi card as some do not work on windows 98
