could some one tell me how to go about overclocking a system as it is an old dinosaur that doesnt support a very fast processor and it doeant run too fast. I got it relatively cheap so I am not too worried about damageing any hardware but it makes a good means to learn on because it is nearly disposable if need be.
my system is an old dell optiplex gx 100 with a dell gx 100 motherboard it has an Intel celeron A processor that is a 433mhz processor, however it is only running at around 431 mhz. THe multiplier is set at 6.5x witha cpu fsb at 66.45 mhz (originally 66 mhz).
I am getting my information because I downloaded Everest home version. If anyone knows of a more useful utility program let me know so I can download it.
This system also has only 126 mb Sdram installed I plan on upgrading it to 252 in the near future since I found a site that sells the increased memory for this system.
but even that wont speed it up too much so I want to learn how to overclock it .I dont know what the wattage of the power supply but I suspect it is just barely enough to get by.:O
Thanx in advance for any help that you can give me.]) ]) :D :?
