how many bugs do you think this time biggles ?

davey6

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/default.mspx

I see bill gates still thinks he can bull shit us.

i think he said the same thing about windows 98 windows 2k and windows xp will that man ever learn.

Windows Vista delivers improved performance where you’re sure to notice it. Enjoy the faster startup time and low power consumption of the new sleep state. In many cases, Windows Vista is noticeably more responsive than Windows XP on identical hardware.

Windows Vista is the most secure and trustworthy Windows operating system ever, and it helps organizations achieve their business and computing goals with confidence. Windows Vista security features protect against the latest generation of threats, such as worms, viruses, and spyware. If an attacker manages to compromise a computer, Windows Vista limits the damage.

ste

haha look hes talking out his arse!]) apparently they all do that..says bill gates lol

He said similar things when xp came out. To tell you the truth, I think my 98 loaded faster than xp. And my linux loads faster than both of 'em :D

From what I've heard, Vista appears XML Based, XML is easy to mess up (For me anyway, But everything messes up on PCs when I'm about.) Apparently there was going to be another OS between XP (Whistler) and Vista (Longhorn) , The missing OS was codenamed Blackcomb.

What's happening with servers anyway, Are MS releasing a new server OS, or am I sticking to 2003?

If you ask me, the best Windows system ever was Windows 95 (Codename Cairo) or 98 (Memphis)

But in my honest oppinion, as I look at how rubbish the past few windows versions have been, I think I am going to start using linux more,

As for servers, Bring back Novell NetWare...

What is it with theese MS codenames??? I am sat here looking at a PC Format magazine from 2004, Has stuff in it about Longhorn and the dissapearing Blackcomb, and it says MS is using new technology for longhorn, named Indigo, Avalon, and WinFS

WinFS was going to be a new file system, but apparently MS couldnt acheive it, Apparently it had something to do with indexing files better and making them easy to find, but "Microsoft seems to have bitten off more than the context based search engine can chew..."
So as to wheter WinFS exists now, I dont know.

Hey, A bit off topic but, on the other page, is something about fast internet, "The Grid" it has in excess of 6000 pc's in 76 countries, all linked together, and can get through 15 petabytes of data a year (1 million GB) ! apparently its only available for educational and scientific use, Shame, I look at my cruddy 28K connection and whilst waiting for it to load, I watch the ice melt in the freezer, unfortunately, the ice melts faster than my internet loads, Grid website is www.grid.org in honesty I havent looked at the site yet, so I dont know anything about it.

another thing, this magazine says that Vista could be the start of MS's decline, lets hope they are right.
