well I was playing around with my system and so far this is what i have gotten

System Specs:
ChieftTec Dragon SkyBlue Case w/ 460Watt PSU
ECS K7S5A with HoneyX OC BIOS
512MB DDR 266MHZ PC2100 @ 294MHZ
AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 2.0GHZ @ 266MHZ STOCK
running at XP2600+ 2.2GHZ @ 294MHZ FSB (Almost the Barton core)
ATI Radeon 9200SE 128MB 64BIT 200Mhz Core/133*2= 266Mhz Mem STOCK (scored 495 on 3DMark03)
runing @ 290Core/170*2= 340 Mhz Mem (scored 650 on 3DMark03)

for CPU cooling I am using a Cooler Master ACC-L81-UB 80mm using Artic Silver 3 foundhere. very nice. According to SpeedFan my temps are at about 39C idle and goes upt o about 43C when running Quake 3, Need for Speed, and Medal of Honor :Pacific Assault.

Radeon 9200 had a cheap stock heatsink only. I removed heatsink wiped the cheap goo and replaced it with Artic Silver 3, slapped an old 486 wannabe fan.

I have never ever OCed anything in my life be4 but I was getting curious as to how far i could take this cheapo system. I saw someone hit the same Athlon Xp 2400+ i am using all the way to the ratings of a XP3000+ Barton Core.

If anyone in this community does alot of overclocking, maybe u guys can drop me a hint on how to achieve better results and maybe u guys can put up your own results so people can compare results

buggy first thing mate replace your psu with a bigger one if your over clocking a good stable psu is a must at good 600w if your playing about.

your memory speed is a bit slow the board will only take ddr 266 so this is one bottle neck. the system chipset is sis and this will get bloody hot if you overclock may be worth you checking the temp of that when you push the system.
always remember the memory when overclocking give it some sort of cooling its like the video card and cpu the more you push it the hotter it gets and i bet its thats limiting your overclocking.

you have agood cpu temp so something else is letting you down could well be the chipset or memory ( check temps )

i can get well over a extra gig on my system when i push it i have sat and over clocked this thing till it sits up and begs but its really not worth it for day to day tasks yes its fun to do and yes we all like to see just how fast the system will go, but at the end of the day you risk damaging your hardware.

Hey Davey......thanx for replying. I havent really pushed the system yet. i did 147/147 because i know this board is stable with it.

As far as PSU I kinda agree with you, but the other guys only had like 300 or 400W PSU and they good results. i am still a rookie at overclocking LOL

as far as the chipset.....yes u absolutely right but i took care of that by doing th following. the SIS735 chipset came with a double sided thermal tape. But the chipset never got warm to the touch. So i gently twisted it off and cleaned both the chipset and the heatsink. Put some Artic Silver 3 in the chipset, then some dabs of super glue on the corners and placed the heatsink back on. Afterwards, i had a mini fan, but it blows out massive air and a little noisy too. So i wired it to my Fan Controler and keep it a medium speed and it keeps that chipset cool.

As far as ram yeah it is a bottle neck. right now its running at 294Mhz also....but i need to buy ram heatsinks just in case.

your not going to like me buggy :O :O :O :O

i just downloaded 3d mark 03 and had a go on my system this is the score it gave me with everything still loaded up and the internet was still running.

no crying please

11398

need to overclock a bit to reach that score

well wait untill i get my ATI 9600. My scores will drastically increase. My video card is a 64BIT, which everyone knows.....it blows!

But we shall see as to how far i get

Biggles77

You video card blows......i MUST get one of those.:D:D:D:D:D
